I was so excited by this discovery that I made a video where I show you the dramatic difference. OK – so what was my big discovery? When I opened my Sony files, there was a sharpness to the RAWs that rivaled the days I was shooting chromes! Even my old Canon files looked sharper! With each iteration it has gotten better and in PhotoLab 2, you will get 2.5 stops of noise reduction with zero degradation to the image! Here is an old review when it was called DxO Optics Pro 11. I used DxO for one reason – their PRIME noise reduction. My workflow like many of you always started in Lightroom. I got back into using Nik Filters after seeing some amazing work by my good friend and colleague Ron Modra. It was then purchased by Google and now is owned by DxO.ĭISCLAIMER: I have no affiliation with DxO. I had been a part of the pro photographer staff with Nik when the suite was first released. This upgrade was only $79 dollars so it was a no-brainier. My discovery came while I was upgrading my Nik Filter Suite to Nik 2 so it would integrate with PhotoLab 2. You can download a 30-day free trial with Nik filters! I had always been a big fan of DxO PhotoLab 2 (I actually started with this software back when it was called DxO Optics Pro 10). I made quite a discovery the other day quite by accident.
